Mike & Beth's wedding page - vows

These are the vows we exchanged the first time, from the judge at the San Juan County Courthouse. Our friend Marc read his lines for us at the recommitment ceremony:
MARC:
The union into which you two are now about to enter is the closest and tenderest into which human beings can come.

It is a union founded upon mutual respect and affection.

Marriage is an institution intended for the happiness and welfare of mankind.

You are about to assume mutual responsibilities.

About to pledge to each other an undying devotion and fidelity.

Your paths will be parallel, your responsibilities will increase, but your joy will be multiplied if you are sincere and earnest in your relations with one another.

Will you have this woman to be your wedded wife; to love her, comfort her, honor and keep her, and forsaking all others, keep you only unto her, so long as you both shall live?

MIKE
I will.

MARC
Will you have this man to be your wedded husband; to love him, comfort him, honor and keep him, and forsaking all others, keep you only unto him, so long as you both shall live?

BETH
I will.

MIKE
I, Mike, take you, Beth, to be my wedded wife, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, to love and to cherish, and thereto I plight my troth.

BETH
I, Beth, take you, Mike, to be my wedded husband, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, to love and to cherish, and thereto I plight my troth.

MIKE
With this ring I thee wed.

BETH
With this ring I thee wed.

MARC
Let this ring be given and received as a token of your affection, sincerity and fidelity towards one another.

Forasmuch as Mike and Beth have consented together in wedlock and have witnessed the same before this company, and thereto have given and pledged their troth, each to the other, and have declared the same by joining hands, I now pronounce them husband and wife.

These are the vows we exchanged the second time, written by Mike & Beth:

BETH
(to Mike):
Our relationship is truly more than the sum of its parts. With you, I am able to achieve my own potential more fully. In hard times, you comfort me; in good times, the sharing of joy increases its richness. You have brought to my life not only an appreciation of beauty of life, but the experience of beauty.

I promise to continue to value you as a person, a lover, a friend. I promise to listen to you with respect, even when I disagree. Our union is the most important thing in my life and I pledge my continued participation in our relationship, continuing our shared life with all my heart and soul.

BETH (to Ellis):
Your presence in my life is truly a gift. In your smile, you show me the joy of love and togetherness. You, too, have brought to my life not only an appreciation of beauty of life, but the experience of beauty.

I promise to continue to love you, to let you grow into your own person and to delight in your development. I promise to listen to you with respect, even when I disagree.
