MikeL's FreeBSD howto - Install Ports Collection

I recently needed to "fix" an open-source program that I've used
forever. I've traditionally installed it via pkg manager, but needed
to get at the source, thus had to install from ports. Of course I
hadn't bothered to install the ports collection at system install
time...
Simply follow FreeBSD Handbook ch 4.5.1
su [pswd]
portsnap fetch
portsnap extract
Note that this will take some time, perhaps an hour? (I'm on a 20Mb
download DSL. The fetch was quick but the extract to a while.)
