1991 Crawford Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Gold medal winner, Washington Wine Judging, Western Washington Fair 1994. Dark garnet purple. Toasty, tarry new oak and ripe, jammy berry aromas and flavors are delicious, juicy. Spicy, with lively acids and deep, lurking, black cherry fruit. Fruit and acid are a match for significant, but not overdone, tannins. Drink now with hearty fare or cellar for improvement. (Very limited availability; WA only.) [Northwest Palate Jul/Aug 1994]
1992 Klipsun Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Varietal: 100%
1993 Klipsun Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon One ton of grapes were picked. The wine was pressed, fermented and aged at the winery in Seattle. This vintage continues the Wilridge tradition of producing full-bodied, age-worthy Cabernets. The wine has a spicy aroma accented by toasty French oak. It should improve in the bottle for at least ten years. Varietal: 83%, 17% Merlot Appellation: Yakima Valley Harvest: 15-Sep; Sugar at Harvest: 22.8 brix; TA: 0.87; pH: 3.03. 1993 Klipsun Vineyards Merlot 1993 Klipsun Vineyards Merlot One ton of grapes were picked. The wine was pressed, fermented and aged at the winery in Seattle. This is the first Merlot produced by Wilridge. It exhibits forward berry-fruit flavors with a hint of cinnamon in the nose. The wine is ready to drink now but will benefit from up to five years of bottle aging. Varietal: 91%, 9% Cab. Appellation: Yakima Valley Harvest: 15-Sep; Sugar at Harvest: 23.3 brix; TA: 0.72; pH: 3.37. Cases produced: 46 Cooperage: New French oak Bottled: 04-Dec-1994
