[rcvd 19-Sep-2000] -------------------- Dear Friends, 1998 is our 10th anniversary vintage! Thank you very much for supporting us these first 10 years and helping our little operation prosper. To recognize the importance of our winegrowers, we have added their names and signatures to the back labels of our Cabernet wines. 1998 was a very warm year in the eastern Washington vineyards. Consequently, our Columbia Valley Cabernet is characterized by its delicious and complex fruit and ample but relatively soft tannins. 7% Merlot was added to further enhance the finesse. The grapes are from the Champoux, Charbonneau, Ciel du Cheval and Windrow vineyards. Price is $25.50. The 1998 Sundance is very similar to the 1997 vintage and has the same bright fruit from the Merlot but just a little more structure from the Cabernet. It is a blend of 85% Merlot and 15% Cab from the Charbonneau and Ciel du Cheval vineyards. Price is $17. Also this year, we are offering a vineyard-designated wine for the first time. It is 100% Cabernet and made entirely from the Baby Block of the Champoux vineyard. It has intense black raspberry fruit, excellent structure and is well balanced for a single vineyard wine. Price is $25.50. You will be able to sample these wines as well as 1999 barrel samples (including our first reserve wine) at our annual open house from 11:00 to 5:00 on Saturday, October 14th. Prices include a 15% discount through October 14th. Soos Creek Wine Cellars 20404 140th Ave. S.E. Kent, Wa. 98042 (253) 631-8775 sooscreek@mindspring.com To Your Health! Dave Larsen Owner/Winemaker
