WINTER 2000 RELEASE ANNOUNCEMENT

Progress towards our occupancy of the historic Whitehouse-Crawford build
in Walla Walla is going exceedingly well, thanks in part to very mild
winter weather.  While we've been focused on preparing for an expected May
opening, we've also produced a pair of delicious, very limited release red
wines.

1998 WALA WALLA VALLEY SYRAH  $32/bottle

Our second Syrah bottling, this is a blend of two vineyards: Morrison and
Patina, both dry-farmed for maximum intensity.  The wine is complex, rich,
and more structured than the 1997.  Black cherry and smoked game aromas
blend with vanillin and spice from exotic French and Russian oaks.  Ageble
and evocative.

1998 COLUMBIA VALLEY MERLOT   $20/bottle

We don't offer this bottling every year, but when available this wine is
very popular.  It's an attractive combination of deep, ripe black-fruit
flavors and soft structure, styled to drink at a young to medium age.  A
blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon from highly
regarded vineyards in the Walla Walla and Yakima Valleys.
