HOLIDAY GREETINGS from ALL OF US at HOOD RIVER VINEYARDS!

In the Vineyard:

What a season!  It turned out to be a classically wonderful year for fruit
all around here in the Gorge, at least for the grapes (well, we can afford
to overlook the wet spring because of the way the rest of the year went!).
Although we always have to wait and see how things go into the bottle, I
think we can look forward very much to the 1998 vintages (a very nice way
to enter the next century, when many of them will first be released).
Speaking of the next century: we look forward to the harvest over the next
few years of our new plantings, about which many of you have already heard
in the tasting room.  We now have 33 acres of grapes planted, including
Spanish, Italian, Rhone and Bordeaux varietals, and yes, some Zinfandel
too.  Sit back, enjoy the current offerings, and dream of the future with
us!

We Would Like to Put a Bug in Your Ear:
Watch for the first-ever Hood River Wine and Pear Festival, coming May
14-16, 1999, at the HR ExpoCenter (same location as Harvest Fest),
featuring 20+ Oregon wineries, Gourmet pear-oriented cuisine and products,
cooking demos, live music and entertainment, and a great time for all.
The Gorge is usually busting out in sunshine and wildflowers in May, and
the crowds have yet to arrive, so it's a great time to visit.

Hood River Vineyards Annual Wine Sale:
This year we have structured things differently; in addition to the usual
selection of case and case sale prices, we are offering a selection of
gift-packs.  Also new this year, prices DO NOT include shipping and
freight.  To figure out your shipping charges, please refer to the
shipping chart (order form and shipping chart not included in email
version); if you are purchasing several items going to the same address,
and it will all fit into 1 box, use that shipping price (ie. 2 half-cases
