Subject: News Flash -- Wine Spectator Discovers Claar Cellars Date: Sat, 21 Sep 2002 14:16:33 -0700 Dear Friends, Not without good reason would I e-mail you twice in one week. Just one day after transmitting our "summer" newsletter, the October edition of Wine Spectator came out with very nice ratings on four Claar Cellars wines, including two "Best Value" awards: 2001 Late Harvest Riesling, "90" points, BEST VALUE. "Ripe and distinctive, frankly sweet but beautifully balanced with acidity to bring out the ripe apricot, pear, pineapple and honey flavors, which echo on the refined, sweet finish." 1998 Cabernet-Merlot, 88 points, BEST VALUE. "Distinctive for its black olive and wild game character running through seriously smoky blackberry flavors. Finishes with fine tannins." 1998 Merlot, "87" points. Light and lively, with a floral edge to the dark currant notes. Finishes with firm tannins and juicy flavors. 2001 Johannisberg Riesling, "87" points. "Lightly sweet, aromatic with white peach and citrus, showing pretty fruit and texture as the flavors linger." Needless to say, we are happy that Wine Spectator has recognized the quality and value of our wines. As mentioned in the newsletter, distribution of the 1998 Merlot will be very limited and the 2001 Late Harvest Riesling is in short supply. Let me know if I can be of assistance with any orders. Also, I apologize for the typo in the newsletter's website link. Obviously, the correct address is www.claarcellars.com Have a bottle of Claar Cellars wine tonight! Mike Michael W.
