History:
Barnard Griffin winery was founded in 1983 by the husband and wife team of Rob Griffin and Deborah Barnard. The winery is located in Kennewick in the Columbia Valley of eastern WA state. Rob graduated with honors from the acclaimed Enology and Viticulture dept. at University of California, Davis in 1975 and has worked in the WA wine industry at several different wineries since 1977.

Rob and Deborah were married in 1980 after she completed the Masters Program in Healthcare and Administration at University of Washington. Choosing to leave healthcare in 1995, she has become a more active participant in winery operations. They have two daughters, Elise and Megan, who also help with winery activities.

In 1997, they erected a brand new building for the winery west of Richland, just off the highway. They were moved in in time for crush. It has a warm bright tasting room and complete winery facilities.
