Gerard has experimented with several different trellising systems. This photo is of one row of "Lyre"; note the canes are growing upwards. This has not proven effective in this cool climate growing area. He has also tried a row of "Geneva Double Curtain" (aka GDC) where the canes are trained downwards, but this also proved to be a poor performer in this area and has since been retrofitted.
