Light, bright, lively green apple, pear and spice flavors maintain vibrancy through the finish. Cases produced: 1512.

Ripe and polished, weaving some nice coffee and tobacco notes through the dark berry flavors. Best from 1997. Cases produced: 500.

Firm, chewy and focused, backing up it's tanning with a shot of concentrated berry flavors. Best in 1997. Cases produced: 1000.

Rating: 85, Price: $13
Light, elegant and fragrant berry and meaty notes add depth and interest to the proceedings. Tasty now. Cases produced: 1000.

1995 Badger Mountain Vineyards Merlot:

Rating: 88, Price: $14
Dense and chewy, a spicy wine with well-rounded berry and smoke flavors that linger engagingly on the finish. Lots of oak, but lots of fruit, too. Appealing now, best from 1999 to 2000. Cases produced: 500.

A chewy Merlot that packs in enough spicy black cherry flavor to make it worth cellaring until 1998 or 1999 to see how it evolves. Cases produced: 150.

1995 Badger Mountain Vineyards Cabernet Merlot:

Rating: 84, Price: $12
Crisp and light, with modest spice and tobacco flavors that pick up some cherry notes on the finish. Cases produced: 1000.

1994 Badger Mountain Vineyards Cabernet Merlot:

Firm and chewy, with a solid core of blackberry and spice flavors that run into a wall of tannin on the finish. Try in 1998. Cases produced: 450.

1993 Powers Merlot:

Lighter style, with spicy dill notes in the modest tobacco-scented berry flavors. Finishes firm, needs until 1998. Cases produced: 1000.

1994 Powers Cabernet Merlot:

Bright, plummy flavors make this a lively blend, balancing its zesty fruit against a firm frame of fine tannin and some spiciness. Best in 1998. Cases produced: 1000.

Rating: 85, Price: $10
Dense color, chewy texture and strong blackberry and anise flavors that actually remain light enough on their feet to be charming. Ready now. Cases produced: 1000.

1993 Powers Cabernet Merlot:

Rating: 91, Price: $10
Packs a rich vein of spicy plum, currant and berry flavor on an airy, elegant frame. Disarming in it's purity of sweet fruit combined with polished texture and nice touches of minty oak. Approachable now; best in 1998. Cases produced: 550.

1993 Powers Cabernet Sauvignon:

Rating: 91, Price: $12
Silky smooth and beautifully polished, a mouthful of sweet plum, blackberry and vanilla flavor that glides smothly through the finish. Approachable now but could improve through 1998. Cases produced: 300.

1994 Powers Cabernet Sauvignon Mercer Ranch Vineyard:
From The Wine Spectator (Sep-96)
Rating: 88, Price: $18
Packs a lot of delicious currant, boysenberry and plum flavors into a tight package, making the spicy, toasty notes seems almost racy. Should develop into an elegant, deep wine by 1999 to 2000. Cases produced: 1500.
